Jordan Housman 

Owner/Program Director
Head Coach: 2029 Regional Girls, 17U National Girls

Coach Jordan is from Porter, TX and he has been coaching/training players of all ages and skill levels for more than 8 years now. Coach Jordan founded the North Houston Hustle organization with a primary focus of bringing high-level basketball to the Greater North Houston area while providing an avenue for players to grow their relationships with Jesus Christ. Jordan graduated from Porter High School where he was a 3-year Varsity basketball player, Team Captain and he received the 1st Team All Academic Award (2012 & 2013). He continued his basketball career at the collegiate level for 4 years and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration-Finance from Concordia University Texas at Austin. Coach Jordan strives to make personal connections with each and every player he gets the chance to work with. His goal is to adequately provide players with the training and education they need to receive a college scholarship for athletics, academics, or both.

Kris Usher

Head Coach: 2032 Regional Boys

Coach Kris is from Splendora, TX and he graduated from Splendora High School.  Coach Kris has been on our coaching staff since March of 2021. Kris was a 3-year Varsity basketball player and he started all 3 years. Some notable awards for Coach Kris throughout his high school career are as follows: holds the record for most assists all-time (339), won first round of playoffs (2006), won first round of playoffs, 1st Team All District Award (2007), 1st Team All District Award, 1st Team All Area Award, TABC 1st Team All Region Award (2008). Kris continued to play basketball after high school for one year at Lonestar College-Kingwood. He is an amazing role model to our young players and he teaches the game the right way in a very effective manner.

Burgandi Griffin

Head Coach: 2028 Regional Girls

Coach Burgandi is from Houston, TX and she graduated from Summer Creek High School. Burgandi started playing basketball in 7th grade and she progressed very quickly to play Junior Varsity as a Freshman and Varsity from Sophomore year and on at a competitive Summer Creek High School. In high school, Coach Burgandi played her AAU/travel ball for Texas Phenoms which is a very reputable girls program and this helped her land several offers from college coaches. Coach Burgandi continued her basketball career at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, TX. Coach Burgandi is currently on her first season coaching with North Houston Hustle and she does very well with her team.

Chasity Mayes

Head Coach: 16U National Girls

Coach Chasity is a Houston native. She has been coaching basketball for 10 years. This is her second year coaching for North Houston Hustle. She has also coached skills training as well as fitness camps for all ages including a women’s semi-pro team in San Antonio. She has coached both boys and girls basketball teams and she enjoys sharing her passion for basketball as well as being around kids! She’s beyond grateful for her God given talents to be able to help athletes get to the next level. She graduated and played basketball for Dekaney HS in 2013. She attended Texas Tech University, where she played Women’s Rugby, and she graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science and Nutrition. She is currently a middle school teacher and coach, coaching MS girls’ athletics.

Samuel Handsborough

Head Coach: 2030 National Boys

Coach Samuel is originally from Gilette, WY and holds more than 25 years of coaching experience at many different ages/skill levels and he has a very impressive player resume. In high school, Samuel was named Mr. Wyoming Basketball (1997) and USA Today Player of the Year for Wyoming. Samuel won 3 State Championships (1995, 1996, 1997) and was awarded 2 MVP honors (1996, 1997), 2x All-State and All-Conference. Samuel broke career records for: scoring, assists, and steals. After high school, Samuel continued his basketball career at the Colorado School of Mines where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering.  He was also named Freshman of the Year and was All-Conference 4 years for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Coach Samuel is a husband and father to 3 amazing children all of which play for North Houston Hustle.

Shelby Handsborough

Head Coach: 15U National Girls

Coach Shelby is originally from Gilette, WY and holds more than 25 years of coaching experience at many different ages/skill levels and she has a very impressive player resume. In high school, Shelby was named Miss Wyoming Basketball (1997), Gatorade Player of the Year (1997) and USA Today Player of the Year for Wyoming (1997). Coach Shelby won 3 State Championships (1995, 1996, 1997), was awarded one MVP honor, 2 All-State and All-Conference awards. Coach Shelby continued her basketball career at the University of Wyoming on full athletic scholarship and earned a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Shelby scored 1,008 career points in college and she broke several school records: Most Career 3-Pointers (215), Most 3-pointers in a Single Season (83) Most 3-pointers in a single game (8). She was awarded Academic All-Confrence honors for the Mountain West Conference 3 years. Coach Shelby is a wife and mother to 3 amazing children all of which play for North Houston Hustle.

Jahmall Thomas Sr.

Head Coach: 16U Regional Boys

Coach Jahmall Thomas played 3 years of varsity basketball at Gateway Tech under Head Coach Travis Lawrence, where he learned that basketball is more than just a sport. Basketball and the concept of team are tools that teach valuable life skills such as hard work, perseverance, commitment, dedication and teamwork. He followed his high school career with 2 years at Florissant Valley CC and 2 years at Fontbonne University, where he played for Hall of Fame Coach Lee McKinney. While at Fontbonne, he received All-Conference honors for highest season FG% and he led his team in rebounding; he also made the All-Tournament team at the 2010 Moody Bible Tournament. After college, he continued his basketball career playing semi-pro and in overseas in Europe. Coach Thomas has since added progressive years of coaching high school athletics and training athletes from the amatuer to professional levels. Coach Thomas believes that the key to good basketball is HARD WORK, because hard work beats talent every time talent fails to work hard.

Manny Garcia

Head Coach: 16U National Boys

My name is Manuel Garcia. I am an SFA alumni with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Business. Whether I'm the coach or the playerlove the game of basketball and will always have a passion for it. I understand the game of basketball at a very high level, which I transition into coaching. I hold my players to a high standard and will always push them to get better.

Stephen Shell

Head Coach: 2028 Regional Boys

Coach Stephen played 4 years of small school varsity basketball in Austin, TX. He attributes much of his skill development to training under select ball coaches, including Jordan Housman.

Stephen went on to earn a math and computer science bachelor's degree at Texas A&M University. Outside of class, he worked 4 seasons as a UIL Referee and 1 season as a select Head Coach. In 2023, he graduated and moved to Houston for a full-time job in the Energy Industry.

Stephen is dedicated to building up well-rounded athletes, emphasizing education, communication, and Christ-like character.

Adam Majors

Head Coach: 2031 Local Boys, 2028 National Boys

I’m from Willis, Tx and graduated from Willis High School where I was a 3 year letterman in basketball. After high school I was blessed with opportunity to play college basketball at East Texas Baptist University. I’ve been coaching basketball for 5 years. I’m a husband and a father to 3 boys. I’m a positive role model and love to teach kids about Jesus and basketball and remind them that every time we play, we play hard and we play to glorify Him.
